Plants used as medicine are known as traditional medicine. One of the plants used as medicinal ingredients is (Hedyotis corymbosa L) or commonly known as Pearl Grass which is used as a traditional treatment for bacterial infectious diseases. This study aims to determine the content of pearl grass extract which can inhibit the growth of bacteria. One of them is Escherichia coli which can cause diseases, one of which is diarrhea. The method in this research is Article Review where articles are collected using search databases such as Google Scholar, and Proquest. The criteria for the articles used were articles published in 2010-2021. The observation results of the antimicrobial activity test of the thick ethanolic extract of pearl grass (Hedyotis corimbosa (L.) Lamk) showed that the largest inhibition zone was at a concentration of 50% with an average diameter of microbial inhibition. each of 12.8 mm in E. coli bacteria, 12.4 mm followed by a concentration of 30% with an average inhibition zone diameter of 8.7 mm., at a concentration of 10% with an area of 7.4 mm, is the concentration smallest but still able to inhibit the growth of Escherichia coli and still in the strong category. The formation of an inhibition zone around the paper disc proves that pearl grass extract acts as an antibacterial. This is because pearl grass extract has secondary metabolites in the form of alkaloids, flavonoids, tritropenoids, and steroids. It was concluded that the ethanolic extract of pearl grass (Hedyotis corimbosa (L.) Lamk.) had the potential to be developed as an antimicrobial
