Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Risk Based Capital (RBC) on Profitability with Premium Opinion as an intervening variable. The population in this study are all sharia unit general insurance companies registered with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in 2014-2018. The independent variable in this study is Risk Based Capital (RBC) (X) with Premium Income (M) proxied by Net Premium Income Growth as a mediating variable and the dependent variable is Profitability (Y) proxied by Return On Assets (ROA). The method in this study uses quantitative methods using secondary data. The sample selection technique is purposive sampling with predetermined criteria. The sample obtained was 17 companies. The data in this study were analyzed with the Classical Assumption Test and Path Analysis with the help of SPSS Statistics 21. The results of this study indicate that Risk Based Capital (RBC) has an effect on Profitability. Risk Based Capital (RBC) affects Premium Income. Premium Income affects Profitability. Premium Income mediates the effect of Risk Based Capital (RBC) on Profitability (Partial Mediation).
