Enhancing Quality of Life: Self-Acceptance of Parents towards Children with Intellectual Disabilities with a Focus on Roles and Social Support

Abstract
Having children who are born with perfect conditions is the hope of every parent, but in reality not all children are born in perfect conditions according to the dreams of their parents, some of these children have physical or psychological limitations, for example, such as children with multiple disabilities. This study aims to find out how the process of self-acceptance of parents who have children with multiple disabilities while continuing to carry out their roles and provide social support for their children. This study uses an exploratory type approach in the form of a literature search. The results of this study indicate that as a parent of a child with multiple disabilities, one must always provide social support to the child because for him there is no more important source of strength than support from parents. Compared to teachers who only have a temporary role, parents have an eternal and primary role for the child. Parents must be consistent, continuous and systematic in providing the support their children need.
