Development of Assessment Instrument Based on Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) in Reaction Rate Material

Abstract

The lack of variety of questions based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) makes students less practice in higher thinking skills. The purpose of this study are to determine development, validity and practical of assessment instrument based HOTS on the reaction rate material. This research is a Research & Development (R&D) research. Design of this research is ADDIE, but only until development. Data collection techniques use assessment instrument based HOTS, validation sheets, interview sheets and student response questionnaires on practicality. Subjects in this study are validator of matter, evaluation, language, educational practitioner and students in class XII MIA 5 SMA Negeri 8 Palembang. The results of the study are (1) an assessment instrument based on higher order thinking skills (HOTS) on the reaction rate material using the ADDIE development model with the analysis, design, and development stages (2) The categorized of questions developed is valid (3) The assessment instrument based HOTS developed is declared practical with a practicality of 79.28%
