Pronunciation, errors, Minimal Pair Words


The purpose of this research is to explain the errors in pronunciation of consonants and vowels in English made by participants who are members of the English club. This study involved 20 participants. To carry out data analysis, the researcher has selected the smallest word pairs that concentrate on four consonants. This study is a descriptive study. Data was collected using a pronunciation test. Participants were asked to pronounce a group of words that included a minimum of word pairs. The Participants made many pronunciation errors on the consonant sounds /f/ and /v/, and around majority of participants made pronunciation errors on the vowel sounds ɔː and əʊ.
