Abstract

The Meaning of Melukat Ritual in the Community of Dusun VII Tribina, Suro Village, Muara Beliti District, Musi Rawas Regency (Study of Hindu Religious Traditions)" aims to cleanse the soul and mind in humans from the chaos of negative energies from within humans with the help of the universe. The meaning of melukat rituals in Hindu society is very diverse. There are Hindu communities who think that wounding can eliminate trauma in themselves, there are also Hindu communities who feel that melukat rituals can cure diseases, make the heart calm, free from burdens and avoid the influence of evil science. All this is because they hold the view that rituals take a form of spiritual cleansing of self and soul.
