This study adopts a qualitative approach through descriptive analysis, gathering data through library research to comprehend relevant theories. The research states that Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) is a militant Islamic group active in Southeast Asia, with a mission to establish a broad Islamic state. Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines are the focus countries of Jemaah Islamiyah's operations. The organization was founded by Abu Bakar Baasyir and Abdullah Sungkar in 1993 and continuously receives support from a network of Islamic boarding schools and families of fighters, mostly young generations. Jemaah Islamiyah falls under the category of fundamentalism due to its involvement in a series of terror attacks, including the Bali bombing in 2002, resulting in numerous casualties.
