Digitalization Of The Qur'an And Its Urgency For Generation Z

Abstract

Generation Z, a generation whose daily activities cannot be separated from gadgets, social media and so on. It could even be said that interacting with gadgets and computers is more than reading books. Generation Z is very synonymous with the digital world and is very dependent on digital devices. Therefore, in the current digital era, it is very necessary to digitize religious texts, including the Qur’an. Various features are displayed in the digitization of the Al-Qur'an, not only the verses of the Qur’an, but also displaying translations, murotals and even tafsir. This article aims to examine the importance of digitizing the Qur'an in the digital era in order to ground the Qur'an for Generation Z. This research is library research, namely by examining books, documents, texts and making technology digital as a research object and data source. The data analysis used is qualitative descriptive analysis. This research shows that digitizing the Qur’an makes it easy for Generation Z to access the verses of the Qur’an whenever and wherever they are. Ease of accessing verses from the Qur’an by generation Z as an effort to implement the teachings of the Qur’an in everyday life.
