Abstract

The duku plant (Lansium domesticum Corr.) is a tropical seasonal fruit spread across Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, and one of the many tropical fruits that is in great demand because of its benefits, nutrition, taste and high levels of consumption. The propagation of duku (Lansium domesticum Corr.) through seeds requires a relatively long time, therefore efforts to improve the quality and production of duku through cultivation techniques can be used to minimize the trend of decreasing duku production. One new effort that can be developed is through tissue culture techniques. This research was conducted from September 2022 – November 2022, taking place in the Tissue Culture room, the Integrated Laboratory of Raden Fatah State Islamic University Palembang. This type of research is a quantitative descriptive study with a completely randomized design (RAL) using 1 treatment and 5 repetitions. The treatment given was 0 ppm. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of growth regulator 2,4-D on seed explants. The explants were cultured on WPM medium with 30 g of sucrose and 8 g of agar for 28 days. The results showed that the concentration of 0 ppm in the 4th week had no response, only a slight brown discoloration of the explants.
