The purpose of this study was to describe the role of Islamic religious education teachers in instilling the values of Religious Moderation in students at SMP Negeri 8 Palembang. This study uses a qualitative approach. The place of research is SMP Negeri 8 Palembang. Data collection uses interview and documentation techniques. Data analysis by collecting data, data reduction, presenting and drawing conclusions. Data validity was carried out using source and technique triangulation. The research results obtained are: First, the role of the PAI teacher in instilling the values of religious moderation in students at SMPN 8 Palembang includes: The conservator as a PAI teacher is responsible for his attitude, the conveyer (successor) of the Islamic religious education teacher acts as a motivator and guide, innovator Islamic religious education teachers (developers) collaborate with all teachers, administrators (executors) of Islamic religious education teachers carry out innovation activities, transformers Islamic religious education teachers translate values by becoming figures for students.
